Review: ASTOR Lycra Lacque Deluxe

Hey beauties! I'm back from my trip, it was nice and, since it was in the mountains, it was pretty relaxing too...well, the sleeping part anyway, since the parties were the priority in this camp :)
Today I wanted to write a few words about the nailpolish I am wearing right now. My mom praised it so much, I like this dark red color and thought I'd try it, it's 550 Red Lace. She warned me it dries very slowly, though. As always, I used a base coat, two coats of color and a top coat (of course, waiting for each layer to dry before applying the next one).

My conclusion: I'm rather disappointed...the color is lovely and indeed it doesn't chip off, but...eventhough I let it dry for more than an hour (is any nailpolish worth waiting more??), it has no shine almost at all, not even with a top coat....why? Because, I have the feeling it never dried completely...even now, after 4 days, if I touch it a bit harder with something, it leaves marks in it :| scratches...a good nailpolish shouldn't do that, right? Everything leaves trails in it and little hairs and stuff stick to it, which obviously looks very ugly:

As I said, my mom likes it very much, so who knows...I also have it on the toes and it looks better, but there I didn't have time to apply base and top coats. That means the base and top coats might be the problem, they are by Miss Sporty, but they've worked well with other nailpolishes.

What was your experience with this nail polish?

NOTD: Farmec

Good evening darlings! I have been very very busy, even now I'm tired...not going anywhere tonight, I will get some choco liquor and start writing album reviews :D That's partially why I've been so busy these days, and also got an important interview to do, so in order to ask good questions, I had a lot of research to do. For those who don't know, I have a webzine called Playdeadnation , it's for people that like music with attitude and great messages between the lines. Also stands AGAINST animal cruelty, and supports tolerance, creativity and bravery for people to express themselves.

So, that's what kept me busy, plus been doing make-up for photoshoots at a studio. Now I want to show you my nails of the day, well actually 2 days ago (but it's still put and looks almost perfect!)
This is one of my favourite nail colors, by Farmec. I don't remember the price, I bought it in some supermarket a few months ago and fell in love with the color immediately! As you might have noticed, I love interesting colors and this certainly is one. It's a sort of mix between grey (maybe very dark silver, with almost no shimmery reflexes at all), a sort of beige and a tiny hint of mauve. This is another one that can be both ellegant and edgy. The color seems buildable, though I needed 3 coats for full opacity, BUT I didn't use a base coat since I was in a hurry. Here are some pictures:
I think it's Nr...361? And on the nails:
I feel it's my duty to apologize for the sloppy quality once again. Did you try this polish or do you know a similar weird color? What did you think about it?

NOTD: Dita Von Teese inspired nails

I've been wanting to try this nail style for SO long...They are partially inspired by burlesque showgirl Dita Von Teese (and no, the fact that she's Marilyn Manson's ex wife didn't influence me, even if he is one of my favourite artists, that's their own business!). I love her extremely ellegant but edgy and dark style and perfection. I personally think she should RATHER be seen as a beauty icon than these celebrities that pop out nowadays and are all kitsch...anyway!
My work didn't turn out that perfectly, and I did i after waking up. I will do a matching make-up as well, now we'll stick to the nails because trust me, you DON'T want to see my face when I wake up.
So this is an example of her wearing the manicure I am talking about:
So, I followed this style, but I made the bottom part white and my nails have a more square shape. This is what I did in a rush, just to see what it looks like:

Products used: 2 layers of red (Farmasi), 2 careful layers of white on the bottom of the nails (Kallos nail art) and 1 layer of top coat (Farmasi). And yes, they are a bit dirty with lipstick.
Note: - the red looks more orange on the nails than in reality
- I didn't use any kind of stencils, just did it by free hand that is why it didn't turn out perfectly, and also because it's my first try.
- had the manicure for more than 24 hours so far and it's behaving well so far, not like some nailpolish that chips off after a few hours.

I have a lot of other ideas for this style, when I actually get to put them in practice I will show you the result! I really like this kind of manicure, actually much more than the usual french manicure that everyone wears. It does look good but it's really EVERYWHERE and I loose interest in something that is all over the place and becomes less original.
Feel free to tell me your opinion!

Diary Of A Beauty Addict- Thank you! :*

This will be a short but heartful post and it serves the purpose of giving a HUGE thanks to the mistress behind Diary Of A Beauty Addict for sending me some goodies and just for being so awesome in general! <3
When I opened the package from her, I was thrilled, she really satisfied some of my most urgent needs! (sounded kinky eh? :)) ) This is what I got: Cover Stick in 001 by Astor Paris, Almond Oil Nail & Cuticle Treatment by The Body Shop, a dark sort of denim blue metallic eyeshadow in Wild At Heart 11 by Essence, a glitter nailpolish with golden undertones by Constance Carroll UK, and an ever so cute XL Kabuki brush by Mineral Hygienics.

Thank you again honey, and there is nothing here that I will not use, and I will also review them soon enough!

My first NOTD post - Avon

As far as I've noticed, many of us are also passionate about our manicure, along with face make-up and bodycare :D I almost constantly have my nails painted, usually in either a dark shade (-most of the time) or if it's a vibrant color, it's most likely a more unusual one.
The color I picked for my nails today is a pretty interesting one and it's good for both a more rebellious look (like mine) but can be very elegant as well. It's Avon Nailwear Pro in Wicked. For a sucker for dark colors as I am, this is a perfect nailpolish. It is like a suuuuper dark (almost black) reddish brown. In certain types of light it looks black almost, though it contains very tiny discrete red shimmer particles, to reflect the light. So I could maybe say it is an extremely dark bronze towards rotten cherry sort of color, but it's too hard to explain so I will leave you with some unsuccessful pictures :D

Could someone recommend me a similar lipstick?? :D

Farmasi Nail Polish

Yes yes, I am aware that my blog looks rather horrible because of the color combination! (though except for the purple I kinda like it a bit....in the weird way :-?? ) Thing is, I tried to create another layout, I failed, and it did this all by itself. Will work on it later. Anyaway!

I haven't talked about nailpolish yet I think, so I will talk about a favourite now. It's by Farmasi and it's number 031, a really dark plum. I am a sucker for dark colors, especially when it comes to eyeshadow and nails. I have a lot of Farmasi polishes, especially because there is a pretty large variety of colours, great price and the quality didn't disappoint me either. This is the 7th day I have this on, I applied 2 layers, NO top coat because I was in a hurry. I took a really bad picture today, with bad light, so you can see that it only went off a bit at the tip of the nails, the rest is still put.
So yes, I apologize for the quality but I don't have something better at the moment. I will do a post with my nailpolish collection soon. What is your opinion about Farmasi polishes?
