Look of the day: Burn

A friend was asking me for a make-up that can be inspired by this crazy heat and summer spirit. Then I asked her, what type of summer make-up? Bronze shades, yellow, or...? She said 'something that burns!'. Okay...today, having nothing else to do, I did a quick make-up that I think kinda'...burns. I want to do something more advanced, also ran out of eyelash adhesive (which is not a big deal, since I don't really wear falsies on a daily basis anyway), and the sun started going down anyway, and I prefer taking pictures in natural light. This was inbetween now, so the pictures got a bit blury, but...you will get the idea. Ok, I'll leave you with some blury pictures now, and yes my pores are HORRIBLE when it's so hot outside, no matter what I treat them with, and I wasn't in the mood for thick foundation & powder.

I'll do more of these, take better pictures (hopefully), maybe a step by step one if I have enough time and...patience :D Oh, and here are some products I used, I marked them with little bright dots:

- Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder
- Rimmel Stay Matte foundation
- Rimmel lip liner pencil
- Mineral Hygienics Kabuki brush
- some Fraulein38 brushes
- Rimmel concealer
- Miss Sporty Studio Lash eyeliner
- 180 palette
- Ruby Rose palette

June Favourites

Hey, loves! How are you all doing on this extremely hot summer day? Not exaggerating when I say 'extremely hot', there are about 43-44 degrees in the sun! I'm not complaining though, beause I adore summer.
Thus, I finally got myself to take a look at the products that were indispensable for me last month. Wow, 'last month'....I can't believe time flew by so fast..anyway! I tried to focus stricly on the stuff that I used most and loved/ love.

    - The Body Shop Almond Nail & Cuticule Treatment - whenever I use this, my nails get much stronger and stop breaking...I must say it's a 'miracle product' for me!

  - Alverde Macadamia Nut Body Butter (mini version, to carry around) - I adore it, you can find more details about it in this post .

- Complex Apicol - Emulsie antirid cu lăptişor de matcă Apidermin (english: Apidermin Anti-wrinkle Emulsion with Royal Jelly) - I have too many good things to say about this one, so I'll just do a separate review on it, I love all their products that I tried so far (and would LOVE to try more)!

 - Nivea Fruity Shine lip balm with Pink Guava - this appeared in the last 'month's favourites' post I did (in fact I still love the past favourites too!)...as I mentioned, many Nivea lip balms have disappointed me, but this one made up for it all!

      - Balea Sensitive lip balm - I got this more as a back-up lip balm, I am very picky with lip balms, but this one is does a great job and a major bonus is that it doesn't leave those ugly white stripes on the sides of the lips!

     - Manhattan Multi Effect mono eyeshadow in Black - black eyeshadow is a must for me, I can say I use it in every single make-up (on myself at least), combined with other colors or on it's own. I really liked this one!

    - Miss Sporty Studio Lash EyeLiner - I can't say it's suuuper resistent, eventhough I used it mostly without an actual primer (just foundation ->eyeshadow->liquid liner), but I like the brush, it's not too thin or too soft, so I can handle it with more precision.

    - a cute bracelet that was one of my favourite accessories at the beginning of this summer. I like the fact that eventhough it's 'summerish' with butterflies and flowers, it's sill my style at the same time (my style being a bit edgy, even obscure, haha). It's pretty solid, no danger of losing it easily, and it goes with ellegant stuff, as well as well as with my everyday mixed-up style.

- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - this is what I've started reading a few days ago! I actually love reading more than watching movies, especially now during summer, what can be better than laying in the sun with a good book? Haven' finished reading them yet, really enjoying it though.
Have a wonderful day! :)

Liquid Eyeliners: Kallos & Miss Sporty

Some time ago, I ran out of liquid eyeliner, which used to be quite essential for me in general, but then I was constantly working on my pc, and I didn't go out of the house almost at all, well not during the day anyway.. x)) So I kept postponing it, and when I really wanted to define the lash line and draw that nice little 'tail' in the outer corner, (tip:) I used a bit of mascara with on an eyeliner brush.
BUT today, I thought of making up for all the 'lost time' and I got me two liquid eyeliners :D Studio Lash Eye Liner by Miss Sporty in 001 Extra Black ( <3 extra black sounds awesome for me, hehe) and the other one is a Kallos Cosmetics liquid liner in 01 Black.
I was already familiar with the Miss Sporty liner, since I had one longer ago, also black, but this one is a new presentation and extra black. Though the one I had longer ago, had a realllly thin brush, which makes it more difficult for me to work with, especially on the outer corner if I want a thicker line. But this one surprised me, it has a more solid and thicker brush/tip, which gives me more control over the thickness and shape of the line. So that is a bonus!
The one by Kallos on the other hand is the one with the thin tip now, and I tested it, and I can say I was still able to work smoothly with it.

Whenever I buy two products at once or just use 2 products for the same thing simultaniously, I end up comparing them. In this case, I can't say much about either of them, except what I seee right away. I have the feeling these were both a good investment. I'll leave you with a pic of them and a little test, on an eye each. You can see them here, compare the tips. I personally prefer if they are thicker, which in this case is Miss Sporty, but the other one clearly contains a bigger amount of product and the tip is fairly ok so far.
Kallos:
Miss Sporty:

As you can see, there is a bit of difference in thickness, afer a raw and not too pretentious test. I usually don't blink before the eyeliner dries, but now I did and I was surprised Kallos didn't leave any mark on the lid, while the other one smudged a bit as you can see. But that is not really relevant, just a small observation.

So all that's left now is to keep using them and see how great the quality is :D

Did you try these? Opinions? :*
