LOTD: Everyday effect

   Here is the Look Of The Day I prepared for today. It's actually the look I had in the past two days, but just got around to posting it today. It's mostly in natural colors, no black eyeliner on the upper lid this time, which is RARE in my case. But instead, I smeared a generous amount of black on the lower lid, to add depth and make it slightly dramatic, also added false lashes in the outer corner of the upper lids, I think that is a tiny trick that is very effective (I like false lashes this way much more than a whole stripe). p.s. I have imperfections on the skin that I rarely get, but I won't bother editing them, it's a beauty blog and I'm not the only one who gets them :P

   Acum, să vă arăt şi Look Of The Day de azi. De fapt am purtat acest machiaj zilele trecute, dar acum am ajuns să fac postarea. Nu e ceva ieşit din comun, am folosit culori naturale şi fără tuş sau creion pe pleoapa mobilă, ceea ce e extrem de rar ]n cazul meu. În schimb, am întins o cantitate generoasă e negru pe pleoapa inferioară pentru a da mai multă intensitate şi dramatism, de asemenea am adăugat gene false în colţurile exterioare ale pleoapelor mobile, mi se pare că e un truc minuscul dar de efect (îmi place să folosesc genele false aşa mult mai mult decât benzi întregi). p.s. De vreo trei zile mi-au apărut nişte imperfecţiuni pe piele, care îmi apar rar din fericire, dar nu mă voi obosi să le editez; la urma urmei e un beauty blog şi nu sunt singura care se confruntă cu asta :P

I must mention this was a special occasion where I made spontaneous decision for two days constantly, I went out for a coffee with my boyfriend one morning and got home about 30 hours later :)) I obviously didn't have any make-up remover or anything with me, and I was AMAZED at how good it still looked after more than 24 hours; after walking in the cold which gives me tears, a party and a night's sleep. I have a product to praise for this, and no, it's not an actual primer...I will list the products used, but won't reveal the one that was responsible for the super-lasting...yet! But in some future reviews.

Trebuie să menţionez faptul că au fost două zile mai speciale, în care am tot luat decizii foarte spontane, am ieşit dimineaţa la o cafea cu prietenul şi m-am întors acasă vreo 30 ore mai târziu :)) Evident, nu am avut demachiant sau nimic de genul la mine, şi am rămas UIMITĂ cât de bine îmi arăta încă machiajul după mai mult de 24 ore; după plimbări pe un ger aproape Siberian de la care îmi lăcrimează ochii, o petrecere şi o noapte de somn. Toate astea se datorează unui produs pe care îl voi ridica în slăvi în curând, şi nu, nu e tocmai un primer... voi lista produsele folosite, însă nu voi dezvălui care este produsul vinovat pentru super-rezistenţă...încă! Dar o voi face curând într-un review.

I took this picture after waking up, after about 24 hours if not more, and that's when it started creasing and the lash glue started to give up. By the way, I must say I payed 5 Ron for that glue on Cupio.ro and I didn't even dream it will last that much, especially under these circumstances:

Am făcut poza după vreo 24 ore dacă nu mai mult, abia atunci a început să mi se adune fardul în pliu şi să cedeze adezivul pentru gene. Apropo, am plătit 5 Ron pentru adeziv pe Cupio.ro şi nici n-am visat că ar putea rezista atât, mai ales în asemenea împrejurări:

Review: Two blushes by Rimmel London

   See, I am in a posting frenzy today! But fair enough, since I've got a LOT of absence to make up for...Now I thought of reviewing two blushes I've had for a few weeks, by Rimmel. I can say Rimmel never disappoints me. I think their cosmetics usually give a natural look. Well, I rarely have a natural look, including face contouring/ blush, especially in evening make-up looks, so after applying foundation, I apply cream blush (at the moment I have a homemade one that I LOVE, more about that later) and then powder blushes on top of that, this way it will obviously have much more intensity, and then a thin layer of the powder you apply on the rest of the face as well, so that the shades blend a bit. I will try to explain this with pictures. So anyway, sorry for babbling so much but I've missed this blog! :P

  Here are these two beauties ( <= 131 Madeira and 101 Pink Sugar=> ):

   I can't say I have pro's and con's in this case, it's a question of the occasion you use them for and how you use them. As I said, if I want something very natural (which is rare), I will apply them only on foundation and they will not have that much intensity, but will give a subtle color with very discrete satin shimmer. That is a plus for me, since I don't like very shimmery stuff on my cheeks, and since I want to make my face look more slim, too much shimmer will just puff it more from certain angles, bleah. As said above, I personally apply them over a base of cream blush <3 and I mostly use them both: the darker one right in the lip-ear line, and the lighter one above it, on the cheekbone. I hope you understood something from all this :P Aaaaaand some poorly photographed swatches:

   Sucky quality pictures, but eh! 

Would I buy them again? Yes definitely, and I will probably buy more shades. The price was around 23-24 Ron/ around 5 Eur.

Review: Stay Matte Powder by RIMMEL

   Today I have decided to review a product I have been most faithful to in the past years. As I usually have difficulty finding the perfect face products, I stick to them for a long time once they've conquered me. Stay Matte Pressed Powder by RIMMEL London is one of these few products. I have discovered it quite a few years ago, when I was aiming for a combination between matching, fair color for my skin (as in case of most lines, even the lightest shade is dark and/ or too orange) and something that will really keep the skin matte, oily areas being one of my biggest problems. Then the lady from the drugstore recommended me this one. And damn I am glad she did! I chose the lightest one, 001 and been using that ever since. 

   I recently bought 2 or 3 darker shades of the same powder, to be able to adapt them to different occasions, looks, and for contouring of course. I also have a tip for playing around with different shades, when it comes to powder: I tend to use a good amount of blush, especially when I go out in the evenings, and having a pretty rounded face, I don't like it to be too shimmery, otherwise the effect is the opposite of what I want (blush on round faces usually has the goal of giving the impression of a slimmer face). So after putting on cream blush as a base + blush, I blend in a thin layer of darker powder on that area, so that it will mattify it a bit, keeping the colorful shadowy look.


   But I will share a separate post about my face routine, this one is focused on this particular powder, so finally, here is the breakdown:


Pros:

• good coverage, even the transparent shade does a good job
• blends out well, doesn't look like you've put flour on your face
• nice natural looking colors, even fair ones which are usually hard to find
• keeps the face matte for a long time

Cons:

• I find that the lid can slip off too easily, so it is risky to just throw it in your bag and let it wonder
• eventhough it keeps the face matte for quite long, it can start getting shiny again in a few hours (for example in school I used to apply it in the morning, at home, and at about 12-1 p.m. I had oily skin again), but I guess reapplying it a few times solves the problem!
